The QSFP-DD has 8-lane electrical interfaces with data transmission rates of up to 28Gbps NRZ or 56Gbps PAM4, achieving total data rates of up to 200Gbps, 400Gbps, or 800Gbps. The QSFP-DD connectors and cable assemblies comply with the IEEE 802.3bj, InfiniBand EDR, and SAS 3.0 specifications, making them suitable for various next-generation technologies and applications. The QSFP-DD (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Double Density) utilizes 8 electrical lanes (supporting 28 Gbps NRZ or 56 Gbps PAM-4 for aggregate per-port rates of 200, 400, or 800 Gbps) to double the density of QSFP interconnects, effectively. The backward compatibility of the QSFP-DD product portfolio allows existing QSFP modules to be inserted into QSFP-DD ports. QSFP-DD (also known as QSFP56-DD) stands for Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Double Density. It is fully compliant with IEEE802.3bs and QSFP-DD MSA standards. The "Double Density" refers to the module supporting twice the number of high-speed electrical interfaces compared to the standard QSFP28 module. Through Non-Return-to-Zero (NRZ) modulation technology, the data rate per channel can reach 25Gb/s, achieving 200G network transmission. Additionally, through PAM4 modulation technology, the data rate per channel can reach 50Gb/s, achieving 400G network transmission, suitable for high-performance computing data centers and cloud networks.
Backward-compatible: Allows QSFP-DD to support existing QSFP modules (such as QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP56, etc.), providing flexibility for end users and system designers.
2x1 Stacked Integrated Cage/Connector: Supports single-high cage connectors and two-layer stacked cage connector systems.
SMT Connector and 1xN Cage Design: This design can provide at least 12W of thermal support per module. Higher thermal performance reduces the requirement for transceiver cooling capabilities, thereby lowering some unnecessary costs.
